Why become an Individual or Organisational member of EAGT?

As an individual member you are probably not protected by a Code of Ethics and/or Complaints procedure. If you become a member of EAGT you and your clients are protected by our Code of Ethics and Complaints procedure.

But also our Certificate could be a reason to become a member because our certificate is a certificate with a quality label. We actively award our Full members with our own certificate in Gestalt Therapy. In this way EAGT can protect and support the integrity of Gestalt Therapy and that of the wider profession of psychotherapy across Europe.

EAGT exists to preserve the integrity of the method, i.e., gestalt therapy. This is best done on a wider European level than just the national, because we can learn from other gestalt perspectives through personal contact and through working together within EAGT. This allows a greater depth of collegiality and friendship with our gestalt community across differing cultures and perspectives.

Already the EAGT has played a crucial role in developing more research with new research teachings setting up in a number of countries and through EAGT supporting a new European wide research journal, due out this autumn.

As an organisational member there are as well benefits for becoming a member. After you have been accredited your Institute turns out good, fine and recognized Gestalt therapists.

For all organisations go as well that you are supported by our code of ethics and complaint procedure. But you can also allow for our assistance for making a code of ethics and/or complaint procedure for your own organisation.

Our Certificate could also be a good reason to become a member because our certificate is a certificate with a quality label. We actively award our accredited Institutes with our own certificate in Gestalt Therapy. In this way EAGT can protect and support the integrity of Gestalt Therapy and that of the wider profession of psychotherapy across Europe.

Let’s not forgot to think of benefits as: vocational supportive, broadening horizon, but also political recognition and identification.

Why doubting to become an individual or organisational member? Why hesitate?
